I’ve Kissed the Stars

Paper size 6 X 6; image size 5 x 5. Unsigned Lithograph on Watercolor Paper, 1972

I have always loved the art where Thom divides day and night. Here he has the purple earth with the night sky and on the day, a Cape Cod sunset day with his white cloud, rainbow and green earth and there moving forward with a graphic punch, his poem. Thom always looked at me with eyes that I knew he loved me forever. He also had a starburst in his right eye. I always thought that was his mark of God’s eye looking at life with all his heart, maybe that’s why he painted rainbows. I like to think so. Thom donated his eyes to the blind, so someone has his eyes; I hope they are fond of looking at rainbows. What a wonderful thought.
